Scene 1 · Beginner

The emperor loves new clothes

English translation

Long ago, there lived an emperor who loved new clothes very much. He spent all his money on them and wanted only one thing: to always be beautifully dressed. He did not care about his soldiers or take an interest in the theater. But he loved riding in his carriage and showing everyone his new outfit.

English translation

He had a different outfit for every hour of the day. He spent a great deal of time in his dressing room, where his clothes were kept.
