The princess by the well

English

Long ago, when wishes could still come true, there lived a king whose daughters were all beautiful. The youngest was so beautiful that even the sun, which had seen so much of the world, was amazed whenever it shone on her face.

English

Near the king's castle stood a large, dark forest. Beneath an old linden tree was a deep well. On very warm days, the princess would go into the forest and sit beside the cool well. Whenever she grew bored, she tossed her golden ball high into the air and caught it again.

English

Of all her toys, this ball was her favorite.
