Un spécialiste de la loi religieuse veut mettre Jésus à l’épreuve. Il se lève et lui demande : « Maître, que dois-je faire pour vivre éternellement ? »
An expert in religious law wants to test Jesus. He gets up and asks him, “Teacher, what must I do to live forever?”
Jésus lui demande ce qui est écrit dans la Loi et comment il le comprend.
Jesus asks him what is written in the Law and how he understands it.
L’homme répond : « Tu dois aimer le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ta force et de tout ton esprit. Tu dois aussi aimer ton prochain comme toi-même. »
The man answers, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind. You must also love your neighbor as yourself.”
« Tu as bien répondu, dit Jésus. Fais cela, et tu vivras. »
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus says. “Do this, and you will live.”
