En gang laget en ond trollmann et magisk speil. Alt som var godt og vakkert, ble nesten borte i speilet. Alt som var stygt fra før, så mye verre ut. Selv folk som kjente hverandre godt, så helt fremmede ut i speilet.
Once, an evil sorcerer made a magic mirror. Everything good and beautiful almost vanished in the mirror. Everything that was already ugly looked much worse. Even people who knew each other well looked like complete strangers in the mirror.
Trollmannen lo av det han hadde laget. Elevene hans sa at speilet viste hvordan verden virkelig var.
The sorcerer laughed at what he had made. His pupils said that the mirror showed what the world was really like.
