Scene 1 · Beginner

Oglinda vrăjitorului cel rău

The wicked magician's mirror

English translation

Once upon a time, there was a very wicked wizard. He had made a strange mirror: in it, everything good and beautiful looked small and ugly, while bad things looked even worse.

English translation

Beautiful landscapes looked terrible, and people’s faces changed so much that their friends no longer recognized them. Even a kind thought made the face in the mirror look ugly. The wizard laughed with delight.

English translation

The students at his school of magic told everyone about the mirror. They said it showed the world as it really was.
