Era uma vez um mago muito mau. Um dia, ele fez um espelho estranho. Nesse espelho, tudo o que era bom e bonito parecia pequeno e sem valor. Tudo o que era feio parecia muito pior. Até as pessoas mais bonitas ficavam com o rosto tão diferente que os amigos não conseguiam reconhecê-las.
English translation
Once upon a time, there was a very wicked magician. One day, he made a strange mirror. In that mirror, everything good and beautiful seemed small and worthless. Everything ugly looked much worse. Even the most beautiful people looked so different that their friends could not recognize them.

O mago ria muito de sua invenção. Ele ensinava numa escola de magia, e seus alunos espalharam a notícia do espelho. Diziam que agora podiam ver como o mundo e as pessoas realmente eram.
English translation
The magician laughed a lot at his invention. He taught at a school of magic, and his students spread the news about the mirror. They said that now they could see what the world and people were really like.
