Scene 1 · Beginner

A warning at the river

English translation

Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh about the Israelites. Pharaoh was the king of Egypt and would not let the people leave.

English translation

God told Moses to meet Pharaoh in the morning by the river. He was to take the staff that had turned into a snake and give him this message: “Let my people go, so that they may serve me in the wilderness. You have not listened to me so far. The water of the river will turn to blood.”

English translation

“The fish will die, and no one will be able to drink this water. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

English translation

God also told Moses to give Aaron a command. Aaron was to stretch out his staff over the waters of Egypt. Then the water in the rivers, the lakes, and even the containers would turn to blood.
