Uma advertência à beira do rio
A warning at the river
English translation
Moses and Aaron spoke for the Israelites before Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. But Pharaoh did not want to let the people leave the country.
English translation
God told Moses to meet Pharaoh the next morning, near the river. Moses was to take the staff—the rod that had turned into a snake—and give the king this warning:
“The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you. He wants you to let his people go so they can serve him in the wilderness. You refused to listen.”
Portuguese
Agora a água do rio vai virar sangue.
English translation
“Now the river water will turn to blood. The fish will die, the river will stink, and the Egyptians will not be able to drink this water. Then you will know who God is.”
English translation
God also told Aaron to stretch out his hand with his staff over the waters of Egypt. The water in the rivers, the lakes, and even the wooden and stone containers would turn to blood.
