A warning at the river
English translation
Moses and Aaron speak to Pharaoh on behalf of the Israelites. He is the king of Egypt and does not want to let the Israelites go.
English translation
God says to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh at the riverbank early tomorrow morning. Take the staff that turned into a snake. Tell him, ‘Let my people go so that they can serve me in the wilderness.’”
English translation
Moses is also to bring Pharaoh a warning. The water in the river will turn to blood. The fish will die, and the river will stink so badly that the Egyptians will no longer be able to drink its water. Pharaoh is to recognize God’s power from this.
English translation
Then Aaron is to hold his staff over the water in Egypt. All the water is to turn to blood, even the water in containers made of wood and stone.
