Scene 1 · Intermediate
Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, on behalf of the Israelites. But Pharaoh did not want to let the people go.
Isten így szólt Mózeshez: – A fáraó makacsul ellenáll. Reggel menj elé a folyópartra, amikor kimegy a vízhez.
God said to Moses: “Pharaoh is stubbornly resisting. Go to him in the morning, when he goes out to the riverbank. Take the staff that turned into a snake. Tell him, ‘The God of the Hebrews has sent me to you.’ This is my message: ‘Let my people go, so they may serve me in the wilderness! Until now you have not listened to me, but now you will know that I am the Lord.’”
“‘The staff will strike the river’s water, and the water will turn to blood. The fish will die, and the river will stink so badly that the Egyptians will be disgusted by its water.’”
God also commanded Moses to have Aaron stretch out his staff over all the waters of Egypt. The water in the rivers, streams, pools, and reservoirs was to turn to blood. Even the wooden and stone vessels throughout the country would contain blood.
