Ostrzeżenie nad rzeką
A warning at the river
Polish
Mojżesz i Aaron występowali przed faraonem, królem Egiptu, w imieniu Izraelitów.
English translation
Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, on behalf of the Israelites. But God saw that Pharaoh still stubbornly refused to let the people go. So he told Moses to meet him in the morning by the river, when the king went down to the water. Moses was to bring the staff that had earlier turned into a snake.
English translation
“Give him my message,” God said. “The God of the Hebrews has sent you to demand the release of his people. They are to serve me in the wilderness, but Pharaoh has not listened so far. Now he will know that I am the Lord: when the staff strikes the water, the river will turn to blood. The fish will die, and the stench of the river will make the Egyptians recoil at the thought of drinking from it.”
Polish
Bóg kazał też Mojżeszowi przekazać Aaronowi, by wziął swoją laskę i wyciągnął rękę nad wodami Egiptu.
English translation
God also told Moses to tell Aaron to take his staff and stretch out his hand over the waters of Egypt. Blood would appear not only in the rivers, streams, pools, and ponds, but also in wooden and stone containers throughout the country.
