Hófehérke születése
Snow-white is born
English translation
It was the middle of winter, and snowflakes fell from the sky like tiny feathers. A queen sat by the window, sewing. The window frame was made of black ebony. As she looked out at the snow while she sewed, she pricked her finger, and three drops of blood fell onto the white snow.
English translation
The red looked so beautiful against the white snow that the queen wished to herself, “If only I had a child with skin as white as snow, cheeks as red as blood, and hair as black as this window frame!”
Hungarian
A királynő azonban a gyermek születésekor meghalt.
English translation
Before long, she had a baby girl. Her skin was as white as snow, her cheeks as red as blood, and her hair as black as ebony. So they named her Snow White. But the queen died when the child was born.
