Hófehérke születése
Snow-white is born
English translation
One winter day, the queen sat by the window sewing. It was snowing outside, and the window frame was made of black ebony. The queen pricked her finger, and three drops of blood fell onto the snow. She looked at the red blood on the white snow and wished for a child.
English translation
She wished for her child to have skin as white as snow, a face as red as blood, and hair as black as the window frame.

English translation
Not long afterward, she gave birth to a little girl. The girl looked just as she had wished, so they named her Snow White. But her mother died when Snow White was born.
