Keiseren elsker nye klær
The emperor loves new clothes
English translation
Many years ago there lived an emperor who loved new clothes so much that he spent all his money on them. All he wanted was to look well dressed. He had no interest in his soldiers or the theater. What really made him happy was going out in his carriage and showing off a new outfit.
English translation
He had a different coat for every hour of the day. People might say of a king that he was sitting in his study. Of this emperor, they would usually say, “The emperor is in his dressing room.”
