Cesarz kocha nowe stroje

The emperor loves new clothes

English translation

Long ago, there lived an emperor who loved new clothes so much that he spent all his money on them. What mattered most to him was always looking elegant. He was not interested in soldiers, and he did not enjoy the theater. But he loved going out in his carriage so everyone could admire his latest outfit.

English translation

He had a different frock coat—a long, elegant jacket—for every hour of the day. People said that other rulers were in their offices. Of him, people most often said, “The emperor is in his dressing room.”
