Scene 1 · Beginner

En anka väntar i sitt bo

A duck waiting on her nest

English translation

It was summer in the countryside. A deep river flowed past an old farm. Large green leaves grew between the house and the water. Under the leaves, a duck had made her nest. There she sat, waiting for her eggs to hatch.

English translation

The ducklings were taking a long time to hatch, and their mother was growing tired of waiting. The other ducks preferred to swim in the river rather than come and visit.
