Scene 1 · Beginner

Una pata espera en su nido

A duck waiting on her nest

English translation

It was summer, and the countryside was beautiful. Around the fields were vast forests with deep ponds. Near an old house, beside the river, plants grew with leaves so large that a child could hide beneath them.

English translation

A mother duck had her nest there, waiting for her ducklings to hatch. She had been sitting on the eggs for a long time and was tired. Almost no one came to visit her, because the other ducks preferred to swim in the river.
