Eine Ente wartet im Nest

A duck waiting on her nest

English translation

It is summer in the countryside. Grain grows in the fields, and hay lies in the meadows. Between the fields stand large forests with deep ponds.

English translation

An old farmhouse stands beside a river. Plants with large leaves grow along the riverbank. Beneath these leaves, a duck sits on her nest. She is waiting for her ducklings to hatch from their eggs. It takes a long time, and the duck grows tired of waiting. She is often alone because the other ducks prefer to swim in the river.
