Au cœur de l’hiver, une reine coud près d’une fenêtre au cadre noir. Elle regarde la neige, se pique le doigt avec son aiguille et laisse tomber trois gouttes de sang sur la neige. Elle trouve ce rouge très beau sur le blanc.
In the depths of winter, a queen is sewing beside a window with a black frame. She looks at the snow, pricks her finger with her needle, and lets three drops of blood fall onto the snow. She finds the red very beautiful against the white.
Elle souhaite alors avoir un enfant à la peau blanche comme la neige, aux joues rouges comme le sang et aux cheveux noirs comme le cadre.
She then wishes to have a child with skin as white as snow, cheeks as red as blood, and hair as black as the frame.
Peu après, elle a une fille qui ressemble à son souhait. On l’appelle Blanche-Neige. Mais la reine meurt à sa naissance.
Soon afterward, she has a daughter who looks just as she wished. They call her Snow White. But the queen dies when she is born.
