Un día de invierno, una reina cosía junto a una ventana de madera negra. Miró la nieve y se pinchó un dedo. Tres gotas de sangre cayeron sobre la nieve. A la reina le gustó ver el rojo sobre el blanco.
One winter day, a queen was sewing beside a black wooden window. She looked at the snow and pricked her finger. Three drops of blood fell onto the snow. The queen liked seeing the red against the white.
«Quiero un bebé con la piel blanca como la nieve, las mejillas rojas como la sangre y el pelo negro como esta madera», pensó.
“I want a baby with skin as white as snow, cheeks as red as blood, and hair as black as this wood,” she thought.
Poco después nació una niña que era tal como la reina había deseado. La llamaron Blancanieves. Pero su madre murió cuando ella nació.
Soon afterward, a girl was born who was just as the queen had wished. They named her Snow White. But her mother died when she was born.
