Scene 1 · Beginner
Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, on behalf of the Israelites. But Pharaoh did not want to let their people go.
God told Moses to meet Pharaoh on the riverbank in the morning. Moses was to take the staff that had previously turned into a snake and deliver God’s words: “Let my people go, so that they may serve me in the wilderness. You have not listened to me so far. When the staff strikes the river, its water will turn to blood.”
“The fish will die, and the water will smell so bad that the Egyptians will not be able to drink it. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”
God also told Moses to pass another instruction to Aaron. Aaron was to stretch out his hand with the staff over the rivers, streams, and lakes of Egypt. All the water was to turn to blood, even the water in wooden and stone vessels.
