Один человек хорошо знал религиозный закон. Он встал и задал Иисусу вопрос, чтобы проверить его: — Учитель, что мне нужно сделать, чтобы жить вечно?
A man knew the religious law well. He stood up and asked Jesus a question to test him: “Teacher, what must I do to live forever?”
Иисус спросил, что говорит об этом закон и как этот человек его понимает.
Jesus asked what the law said about this and how the man understood it.
Знаток закона ответил, что Бога нужно любить всем сердцем и душой, всеми силами и всем разумом. А ближнего нужно любить так же, как самого себя.
The expert in the law answered that one must love God with all one’s heart and soul, all one’s strength and all one’s mind. And one must love one’s neighbor as oneself.
— Ты ответил правильно, — сказал Иисус. — Поступай так, и будешь жить.
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this, and you will live.”
