Scene 1 · Beginner
Once there was a very wicked magician. He made an unusual mirror and was very pleased with himself. In this mirror, everything good and beautiful looked small and almost disappeared. But everything bad became enormous and looked even worse.
Beautiful places became ugly, and people’s faces changed so much that their friends could not recognize them. Even a small freckle covered almost the whole face. When someone had a kind thought, the mirror showed a wrinkle on their face. The magician watched all this and laughed.
He taught at a school of magic. His students told everyone about the mirror and claimed that it showed people and the world as they really were.
