English translation
Elizabeth was six months pregnant when God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee. He was to visit Mary there. She was a virgin and engaged to Joseph, a descendant of David.
English translation
The angel came in to her and greeted her: “Rejoice, Mary! God has shown you his special favor. The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women!”

German
„Hab keine Angst, Maria“, sagte Gabriel.
English translation
“Don’t be afraid, Mary,” Gabriel said. “God is pleased with you. You will become pregnant and give birth to a son. Name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.”

German
„Wie kann das geschehen?“, fragte Maria. „Ich bin doch Jungfrau.“
English translation
“How can that happen?” Mary asked. “But I am a virgin.”
English translation
The angel answered: “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. That is why the holy child you give birth to will be called the Son of God. Your relative Elizabeth is also expecting a son, even though she is already old. People thought she was unable to have children, but now she is six months pregnant.”
German
Nichts, was Gott ausspricht, ist unmöglich.“
