Snow-white is born
English translation
One winter, a queen sat sewing by a window. Snow was falling outside, and the window frame was made of black wood. The queen pricked her finger with her needle, and three drops of blood fell onto the snow. The red looked so beautiful against the white snow that the queen wished for a child with white skin, red cheeks, and black hair.
English translation
Soon she gave birth to a daughter. The girl’s skin was as white as snow, her cheeks as red as blood, and her hair as black as the wood of the window frame. So she was named Snow White. But after her daughter was born, the queen died.
